In the dry season the lake bed turns into a long green carpet of grass, like the European countryside.
Untouched space
No city noise, just wind through the grass, bicycle chains on dirt roads and acoustic music.

The story of the land
Tri An Lake: from river to grassland
- 1984
On 30 April 1984, construction of the Tri An hydropower plant began on the Dong Nai River, with technical support from the Soviet Union.
- 1987
The river was dammed and Tri An falls passed into history. A reservoir of 323 km², holding about 2.765 billion m³ of water, was formed.
- 1989
All 4 turbines completed. Tri An Lake controls floods, pushes back salt water, supplies water to Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, and every dry season reveals a green grassland.
